Obama has teamed up with Bush on bailout
President-elect Barack Obama has teamed up with President George W. Bush for what could be the last major action of this presidency. At Obama’s request, Bush has agreed to ask Congress for the second $350 billion of the $700 billion financial bailout. The move came shortly after Bush told reporters at this final scheduled news conference Monday morning that he would request the funds only if Obama asked — and that Obama hadn’t yet asked.
